Most doors today do not need a lock since they are electronic, and the opener will act as a lock. But if it is a manual garage door, then putting a lock is highly recommended.

How long should my springs last?
Common Torsion springs can last up to about 10,000 cycles. Cycle means one opening and closing of the door. A loud and instant noise will be heard when this happens and we don’t suggest to try to fix it on your own since it is extremely dangerous.
